Being chosen for the Pepe Jeans London Fashion Designer Award 2024 still feels like a dream come true. It’s both an honor and a significant milestone in my life, marking the beginning of an exciting journey. I am deeply grateful to the INIFD faculty for their unwavering support, creativity, and guidance. This achievement is a true testament to their incredible encouragement and inspiration.

INIFD provides an exceptionally creative environment that nurtures innovation and self-expression. For me, the year-end fashion show was a transformative experience. It taught me how to conceptualize, plan, and execute a cohesive collection—skills that have become invaluable in building my own brand. My time at INIFD was nothing short of transformative. The college nurtured my creativity while providing me with the technical skills essential for thriving in the fashion industry. The faculty’s expertise and personalized guidance motivated me to push my boundaries and hone my unique style. INIFD laid the groundwork for my journey as a fashion entrepreneur. The hands-on training, expert mentorship, and real-world exposure gave me the skills and confidence to launch my own business. It truly is a place where creativity seamlessly meets industry readiness.

As I write this, I feel immense gratitude towards INIFD. I began my Master’s in Fashion Design at INIFD in 2020, and soon after completing my degree, I launched my own fashion label, Nazaakat By Niharika, in December 2022. It fills me with pride to have been part of an institution where the teachers were so encouraging and motivating. Their guidance gave me the confidence to start my own brand without hesitation. The knowledge I gained at INIFD was invaluable, and being selected as a volunteer for Lakmé Fashion Week in March 2022 was the icing on the cake. Witnessing designers showcase their collections on the runway was a dream come true. That experience not only provided me with practical insights but also gave me the courage to embark on my journey as a designer. I am deeply thankful to INIFD for the opportunities and support that have played such a significant role in my success in the design field.

I take great pride in saying that I was a part of INIFD. Studying Fashion Design there broadened my perspective and deepened my understanding of the vital role that design and styling play in today’s world. I am now working as a head designer and stylist in the industry, collaborating with renowned brands and personalities. INIFD gave me the confidence to stand out and make a meaningful impact. I pursued my MSc in Fashion Design at INIFD Chandigarh, and those two years were truly pivotal in shaping my design skills and refining my styling techniques. The mentors were always supportive and ready to help whenever needed. One of the most unforgettable opportunities INIFD Chandigarh offered me was the chance to witness London Fashion Week and work alongside industry professionals—a once-in-a-lifetime experience that greatly enriched my perspective.
